The Last Pirate Queen is a long-term passion project. While I had cut my teeth on some smaller projects previously, this was the first larger-scale video game I worked on as primary artist, writer, and developer. While working on it I learned to balance the multiple responsibilities I had on the project as well as where to continue iterating and when to let things settle. Beforehand, I often would adjust projects little by little in an effort to get them perfect, but the scale of this project made it so that such actions would quickly cause burnout. It was an important lesson to learn and one I still carry to this day.
